Digital signage FAIL: Video wall

Video walls are just amazing. If done well they are attention grabbers but if something does go wrong then it can be quite distracting. Here’s one that we saw:

FAIL FEATURES

The top middle screen appears to have the incorrect video displayed. It seems like it’s part of the third screen. Very strange.

The front of the screens were not aligned and was very noticeable (for me anyways).

The bezel is too thick making it difficult to read or clearly see the picture.

You can clearly see the Windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

SUGGESTIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS

Install wall brackets specifically designed for video walls. Avoid using standard wall brackets because it makes it so much harder to align the screens.

Remote monitor each screen to ensure the Video input is correct and this can be done via the network or the Internet. Most commercial grade screens have the ability to lock the screens to only use one video input e.g HDMI even when it’s powered on.

Use Commercial grade ultra thin screens. The combined bezel on these is about 5mm.

Set up the taskbar to auto hide. To do this right click on the taskbar then select Auto Hide Taskbar:
